C1057S.jpg (19225 bytes)

1057 Ring 15x21 mm $750.00

Rose gold 18th century seal bears the image of an owl and a tea pot. Around it are written the words: "when contemplating counsel consider taking tea". These, now rare, intaglios were used with sealing wax to seal correspondence. They are often very whimsical while being functional. Due to their size variations each mount has to be hand carved in wax and then cast to suit that specific intaglio. The 14k rose gold is framed nicely in its 14k white gold mount. Very heavy yet comfortable ring.

1058 Ring Bloodstone $550.00

A rich green bloodstone with deep red spotting is the medium for this large 16x10mm) 19th century, classical revival, intaglio seal of the roman centurion. A symbol of duty, fealty, and strength this type of ring has been worn by men since roman times. The mount is carved and cast in solid 14k yellow gold. This enhances the colors of this lovely bloodstone. These stones were symbols of affluence and authority since earliest times.

C1062S.jpg (18085 bytes)

1062 Ring 18x15mm $485.00

Hand engraved purple glass 18th century original Georgian (as in George the third or fourth) intaglio. The word "Friday" is written in the center. The stone may imply that the owner was Friday's child; or maybe it was a way to mark the date of posting. These, now rare, intaglios were used with sealing wax to seal correspondence. They are often very whimsical while being functional. Due to their size variations each mount has to be hand carved in wax and then cast to suit that specific intaglio. This ring is mounted with a 14k yellow gold bezel; while the rest of the ring is white gold.
